A simple guide to estimating quantities for personalized wedding favors, napkins, cups, coasters, matchbooks, and matchboxes.

Every celebration is different, but these recommendations are a great starting point for most weddings and events.

Personalized Matchboxes & Matchbooks

• As a reception favor: Plan for 1 matchbox or matchbook per guest.
• Displayed in a central basket: Plan for 1 per couple, plus a few extras.
• For sparkler send-offs: Plan for 1 matchbox or matchbook for every 2 guests.
• For cigar bars: Plan for 2 matchboxes or matchbooks per guest.

Personalized Cocktail Napkins

• Bar & cocktails: Plan for 2–3 cocktail napkins per guest.
• Cake & dessert: Plan for 1–2 napkins per guest.
• Hors d'oeuvres: Plan for 1–2 napkins per guest.
• Total rule of thumb: For a wedding with a bar, appetizers, and dessert, plan for 4–5 cocktail napkins per guest total.
